Great Exhibition at Villa Olmo.
Villa Olmo building of the eighteenth-century in Como , from 28th June to 16th November , presents the exhibition “Portraits of the city. Urban sceneries . You will find name as Boccioni, De Chirico, Sironi , Merz and contemporary artists organized by Flaminio Gualdoni .
” A journey through more than sixty works, such as a walk through time and space, in a diverse city that offers views and scenery from the early 900’s to the present, investigating for the first time in an exhibition , the incidence of the modern city image city , myth and reality, in Italian art of the twentieth century and the time of day.
Paintings , sculptures and photographs accompany the visitor in the history of Italian art and society: from the futurism of Boccioni , Balla, Depero , through the dreamy classical metaphysics of De Chirico, the concerns of the new poetics of existential of Sironi and architectural abstractions of Soldati and Galli , to the artistic avant-garde ( Knight Merz, Schifano, Tadini , Adami, Rotella, … ) to the masters of ” painted architecture ,” as la Pietra , Cantafora , Ico Parisi, Francesco Somaini to authors as Fontana , Basilico , Ghirri , Galimberti, thanks to which the photograph is not just a document , but intellectual and poetic interpretation of the places.
The tour ends with crucial documentation of the latest generation , from Chiesi to Costa , from Guaitamacchi to Presicce and other young artists between painting and photography shooting with the theme of the current crisis under the image of the city. ”
