There are countless routes on our Lake Como for a day dedicated on discovery of its villas and its most beautiful corners. After I talked about Villa Carlotta, today on our blog we decided to write about Villa Monastero in Varenna.
Today I write a post helpful for parents who are looking for things to do with their children on Lake Como, creating a list of what I think are 10 of the most beautiful activities for you and your family.
They cross every day the quiet lake. Almost you don’t note these ancient boats that for centuries (it says from 1500) were carrying fishermen during their work on Lake Como. They are called “Lucia” or “Batell”, they are rowing or sailing boats very small and they as become the symbol of the lake. Fishermen used it to transport fishes from the lake as Misultit or Agoni, ready to be sold at the fish market along the lake shores or in restaurants and taverns.
Muse have a very special relationship with Lake Como. Matthew Bellamy, was our neighbor for a long time! The beautiful singer in 2001 met a girl living in Como, Gaia Polloni, and, during their long relationship lasted until 2010, Matthew was fascinated by our lake so much that he decided to come to live there.
It is not easy to write a ranking with the 10 most beautiful sunsets on Lake Como because every corner of the lake hides different scenarios, always different but all lovely. This will be a little guide to point you where, for geographical reasons, the sunset is more beautiful than elsewhere, but I can assure you that the colors you'll find on Lake Como are unique from anywhere you choose to view them. The places that you should choose if you would like to see a beautiful sunset are Brunate Blevio Torno, Bellagio, Mandello del Lario, Varenna, Lezzeno, Dervio, Piona, and finally Moltrasio.
The best way to discover this area is by the boat on the Lake. Como Lake is divided into 3 parts: Upper Part, Lake's Center and Como's Branch. The most important place to see is Bellagio, the Lario's Pearl.
