Pigra’s Cable Car: live Lake Como from above
Pigra is a village in the Como’s province which is about 700 meters above the sea level. Placed above Argegno, one of the most characteristic and famous villages of the Lake Como’s western shore, it is easily accessible by the cable car reopened in June of 2011. This cable car connects Argegno and Pigra, about 450 meter of drop in few minute.
The Pigra cable car: ideal starting point for excursions by foot or with you bike
The promotion of the Lake Como’s tourism, in 2015 activated a series of promotions, certifying over 42.400 passengers. A lot of these are tourists, but also residents that are using the cable car to move quickly. Tourists, residents and hikers, who began to use the Pigra cable car to get to the start of hiking trails and paths, as the Boffalora, Mount Galbiga, Alpe Sala, Colonno and Tremezzo.
Surely the activation of the cable car was appreciated also by the many enthusiasts bike lovers. They are taking the cable car to arrive in a point to go along the descent to the Intelvi’s Valley, or reach the cantonal road to Lugano, Ponte Chiasso, or to the Lake Lugano’s shores in Porlezza. For this reason, the municipality of Pigra has also activated promotions with trekking and cycling associations and groups.
Pigra-Argegno: a trip by cable car you have to do all year long
From our Hotel Posta Moltrasio Argegno is about 20 minutes. Always we recommend it to our guests this tour, that allows you to really immerse yourself in nature and admire our lake Como from above in a short time: a show that, thanks to the annual opening, you can try both summer and winter. We remind you that each cabin carries a maximum of fifteen people and the frequency normally is every 30 minutes (every 5 in busy times).
