A lake, an island and much beauty for your one day trip in Pusiano
The entire province of Como offers treasures of great historical value and natural spots of great beauty. You can find some of them in a day trip in Pusiano, and today I decided to give you a little tasting! After some articles about some Brianza’s places, from the Carimate hilly countryside coming to the lovely town of Lecco, I suggest you another exciting excursion in the Lombardy’s green lung. Pusiano is located in the so-called “Lario Triangle”, a lakeside area between Como’s and Lecco’s branches.
First stop of the day trip in Pusiano: the lake and the Cypress’s island
The travel distance starting from the Hotel Posta in Moltrasio up to Pusiano is really short, by car or taking the bus in direction Lecco. The pier where you can go by boat trip on Lake Pusiano or reach the Cypress’s island is located along the eastern shore, in Bosisio Parini. There, before boarding, in front of a clear day, it immediately appears a colorful collection of beautiful nature, still very similar to that seen by those who had inhabited here in the past. First, starting from the top, distant but close, you’ll see the tops of the mountains around Lecco and a small piece of mount Resegone, described by Manzoni.
Take a look around, the lake is surrounded by trees, poplars, alders and willows, wonderful especially when are red and yellow in autumn. And finally the calm lake surface, with the shapes and the colors of everything that it can capture into his reflections. Meanwhile you can watch into the islet a cypress’ row surrounding it in a dense frame that doesn’t allow you to see too much of what happens inside. With the electric boat called “Vago Eupili” you can browse around and observe from a privileged position some of the common and even rare species of birds that inhabit the lake and its shores, from the light blue “Kingfisher” to the placid “Cape Verde”, continuing with the royal swans and their wings. In the guided tour of the Cypresses’ island (that you must book before) the guide explains you the typical and flora and fauna’s curiosities, as you live the most unusual close encounters you might have, saying, “what does it makes a kangaroo in Brianza?”
On land, walk to Pusiano
Inevitable is the short walk from the town to the Sanctuary of “Our Lady of the Snow”: this is the “Path of the Rosary’s Mysteries”, a cobbled lane by Mount Cornizzolo, quiet and scenic, with small chapels wanted by local devotees. At his feet stands the majestic sixteenth century Palace Carpani Beauharnais and its harmonious Italian-style gardens, its interior can be visited by appointment.
In and above the water: how to live Pusiano Lake
If you cannot resist to the water call and you just don’t know how to resist, in summer, armed with costume and swim goggles, you have a nice swim in the Pusiano lake, safe and where is allowed to swimming. For more sports it is also possible to make a good paddling by canoe with skilled instructors, hire a rowing boat to discover any lake’s hidden corner, or dedicate yourself to the famous Carp fishing. To get updated information about the activities, transport and visits to places of historical and natural interest, I recommend you to visit the Bosisio Parini Pro Loco and Pusiano lake’s official sites.
Here I have tried to give some useful tips and interesting ideas for living an unusual experience between land and fresh water of Como Lake, in a one-day trip to Pusiano, not far from the Hotel Posta Moltrasio. Armando and I, along with all our talented employees, we are here to help you give a touch of wonder to your vacation. We’re waiting for you!
